Workforce strategies encompass two distinct audiences. We must build the confidence, capability and skills to address maternal mental health needs across a variety of sectors. We must also make sure those workforce members affected by perinatal mental health, directly and indirectly, receive the support they need.
The Collaborative and Framework supports workforce development by assessing gaps, identifying and disseminating training opportunities, and leveraging funding to address training needs.
The Collaborative also supported the development of the Perinatal Mental Health Alliance - Professionals of Color (PMHA-POC). PMHA-POC was created to fill a gap in support services for professionals and communities of color around perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
