Maternal Mental Health in the Workplace

Employers have an important role to play in supporting their employee's mental health; including during pregnancy and the postpartum period.

Pregnancy-related mental health disorders, including depression and anxiety, are the most common complications of pregnancy. These disorders affect between 1 in 5 to 1 in 7 expectant and postpartum women through the first year after birth. This webinar from Health Links provides an overview of what pregnancy-related mental health disorders are and three ways employers can support their employees’ mental health through the perinatal period (conception–age one). Presenters will also share information on new resources available to support expectant and new moms and ways employers can promote maternal mental health and well-being.

Learning Objectives of Webinar:

1. Maternal mental health issues are widely understood and stigma around help-seeking is reduced.

2. Employers know at least 3 ways they can help support their employees' mental health through the perinatal period.

3. Connected to resources available to help women and their families with maternal mental health issues.
